Marlow and Chris first met in April of 2022 after matching on the dating app Bumble. They got together for coffee, but later decided it wasn't the right time to date. A little over a year later they reconnected after matching on a different dating app, Hinge, in July of 2023. After spending hours talking over a cocktail or two, both knew there was something different. It was obvious they had both grown over the past year, and the way they felt about each other was different and special.

They made plans to spend time in the park together the next day, and ended up on a 7+ hours marathon date. The two spent time with each other every day afterward. At one point, Marlow became nervous that they were spending too much time together. Expecting Chris to disagree or protest, she was pleasantly surprised at his understanding and calm response. From there, she decided she'd like to spend a whole lot more time with him.

Chris brought Marlow home to meet his family (and battle to become the winning team in Mario Party) over dinner. Marlow brought Chris as her plus one to a one-year-old's birthday, where he met 25+ of her loved ones and family friends. Later, Marlow's parents met Chris on a trip to Nashville, and Chris got to meet Marlow's siblings and extended family over Thanksgiving in Seaside, FL.

The couple rang in the new year together and shared their resolutions and dreams for the year, one of which was to get engaged. Marlow visited California with the Mowery family and met Chris's relatives that live there. Chris scheduled an appointment to look at rings around Valentine's Day.

The next few months were both exciting and torturous. Marlow knew a proposal was coming, even being aware at points that Chris had asked for her parents' blessing and purchased a ring. They both worked on their patience – Marlow waiting for Chris to ask her the highly anticipated question, and Chris enduring all of her many questions and emotions in the meantime.

Chris did 'pop the question' on June 15th, 2024, and Marlow said yes. They celebrated with family and friends who gathered at the Mowery home and almost immediately began discussing plans for their wedding. They are now excitedly awaiting June 14th, 2025, where they will get married overlooking a sheep meadow in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA.
